Question for Rich about JS 1200 G string issue...

Hi Rich,

Having a weird issue with the G string on my JS 1200 (trem blocked). I just put 10 guage D'Addarios on a couple weeks ago as a change from the usual 9's, and I have noticed that the G string sort of gets choked off a bit after plucking it open and letting it ring...I guess the sound would be akin to that sound when you are wearing a long sleeve shirt or sweater and it touches the string slightly, sort of cutting off/muffling the string a bit...Loosened the nuts and did some truss rod adjustments to get a little more relief but I'm still having this problem...Any idea what this could be? Thanks a lot

Take a pick and push the string down against the front edge of the nut and see if it rings clear.
