Re-stringing an Edge-equipped RG - I Need Help!

I have some questions before I do this. I've heard from some that I should leave the nut unlocked overnight after tuning and stretching, so I? What does this do? Also, let me make sure my procedure is okay, I looked on Rich's site for some help too.

-Re-string one at a time, from high E to low E.
-Tune/heavily stretch high E, then put B on.
-Repeat until all strings are on and are at perfect pitch.
-After they're all FULLY stretched and in perfect pitch, tighten the nuts, and give the trem a real workout.
-Unlock nuts, tune to pitch again using pegs.
-Tighten nuts, fine-tune until it stays at perfect pitch.
-Plug in and play.

I know I seem a bit anal but I don't want to screw this up, and I want the tuning stability to be great and I want the trem to return to perfect pitch all the time. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Heavy stretch the high E will just break it, heavy stretch the low E.

^Right, I'll just stretch it until it can be stretched with no drop in pitch. How are the steps? Anything different I should do?

EDIT: screamendemon, thanks. I've looked at that and read it over a few times. I just want to confirm the steps I'm taking beore I do it.

Patience is a virtue with floating tremolo-equiped guitars.

Yes, hopefully listening to Liquid Tension Experiment will lessen the tediousness. But anyway, I want to confirm that the steps I listed above are all good and that I'm not missing anything.

One final question: after the strings are fully stretched and the guitar is in perfect pitch (before the locking the nuts), should I leave the nuts unlocked overnight? Or should I just go ahead with the fine-tuning?

^All right thanks guys. I just read (on this site actually) that leaving them unlocked overnight makes a difference, I'll just go ahead with the fine-tune.
