Recreating a Jem

NOTE: This is only for MY personal use. I will not try and duplicate Jem's to sell.

With that said, I'm going to try to make my own Jem. I will be using an Epiphone Explorer (Blegh... I don't like carving into RG's) So first thing's first, strip down everything. Done.

I wanted to try to recreate a Jem 777DY. I will be using the evolution and breed pickups, I got my hands on an Edge Zero bridge, I will try to shave the headstock down to make it look like an Ibanez (this will be interesting...), Clear pickgaurd, Schaller tuners, I also got my hands on some colored plastic knobs, and that's basically it.

This is what I wanted to do (And what I'm asking for help on):

- Route out a single coil pickup cavity
- Add Monkey Grip
- Add a Lion Claw
- Add the swirl paint job (This I just don't get how to do)
- Put in pyramid inlays (like the ones you would see on a UV)

Help please?

Re: Recreating a Jem

Why load the dice against yourself by starting with a body you have to modify so much? - I see it now. You don't want to carve up an RG.

I guess I went blind when you said you wanted to create a JEM out of an Epi Explorer.

I am assuming now that this is a joke.
