Al, if they are standard edge-type posts then just get your hands on an M8 x 30 (or so)...
remove the trem posts and screw in the M8 bolts you got... they can take more abuse and are cheaper !

using a piece of scrap timber to protect the guitar body use a claw hammer or similar bar type nail removing tool, slowly tease... mm by mm the post from its home.
always tease and dont move the bush at anything other than a perpendicular angle to the body..

TBH a bearing/stud puller or similar would work really well on removing the bushes but im yet to try one out cos the claw hammer always works

Re: Removing post inserts .

The easiest and safest way is to get a long threaded bolt that will thread into the insert as well a two nut that will thread onto the bolt. Then get a thin piece of wood that will lay across the body and be sure to put a towel under the piece of wood. Drill a hole in the piece of wood that is big enough for the bolt to go through but not big enough for the nut to go through. put the bolt through the hole in the wood with a nut on either side of it and then thread the bolt into the insert. tighten the bolt on the under side of the piece of wood flush up against the wood. Do the same to the nut on the outside of the wood as well. Now "tighten" the nut on the outside of the wood and this will force the insert out of the hole. Sounds complicated but is actually pretty easy and you don't have to worry about slipping with the claw hammer or ovaling out your insert holes.
