Replacement Trem Arm

I've read other posts on this and have found a FR replacement arm I'd like to install. But,I'm not sure how to remove the bushing inserted in the Edge Pro Trem; or how to install the replacement FR (it comes with it's own insert bushing). Looks like they are threaded? Any experts here in ht know? I'm not willing to try the swap unless it's an easy go.

Thanks,
Brian

Re: Replacement Trem Arm

I've done this lots of times on a regular edge. does the edge pro still have the same push-in bar and the same bushing?
if so, first you need to take a phillips screwdriver, unscrew the small screw at the bottom of the bushing and remove the small part that it holds in which puts tension on the bar when it's inserted. Then you can unscrew the nut underneath the trem bushing. it usually has some lock-tite on it, so it won't just slip off. then unscrew the bushing it self from the top of the tremolo with a flathead.
now you'll have just a threaded hole left. the new FR bushing does NOT screw in. It should just fit into that threaded hole in the trem. If not, you may need to remove just a tiny bit or material from the threads. just enough for the FR bushing to slip in. then you put the other part underneath the FR bushing and install the allenhead screw.
If the screw is too long, you'll need to add washers to it, or get a shorter screw. I believe it is a M4 thread. Make it tight, but DON'T Over tighten. You can strip it or even break the bushing.
BTW, all this can be done without removing the tremolo off the guitar. Just don't slip with the screwdriver!
Hope this helps.

John
