Is it possible? Will it affect the intonation? Im considering to get a fender standard double locking strat, but the only downside is that it had only 21 fret, is it possible to replace the neck with a 22 fret neck or 24 fret neck? And does anyone have any idea if fender floyd rose standard have swimming pool routing? Im thinking of changing it to a H-H configuration as well. Oh ya, it come with fr II, does that stay in tune? Is it that bad compare to ofr? Is it possible to fit in a ofr into it?
If it's 25½" scale, then you could order a custom 28 5/8" scale, 24 fret neck from, among others, Warmoth. One guy did just that with his 22 fret 25.5" scale S7 over at sevenstring.org. He said it basically added two frets at the end of the neck.
You can switch to 22 or 24 frets IF you can find (or make) the right neck. The extra frets have to be on a fretboard extension overhanging the body, so that the scale length is not affected. You will probably have problems with the location of the existing neck pickup, but you indicated that you would probably change that anyway. A 24 fret neck will not cause intonation problems ... but if done wrong will change the scale length and completely screw things. Make sure you really understand what scale length means and you should easily be able to figure out if a neck will work or not. (Note that it would probably have to be a custom neck.) There are some "conversion" necks that add the extra frets by means of changing the scale length (as mentioned), but unless your goal is to convert your guitar into a baritone, that isn't what you want.
It would be much cheaper and easier to buy a guitar with the right specs in the first place.
