Replacing a LO TRS TREM I with a Lo Pro Egde

Hey everyone - I am new to this forum :-)

I have this korean JEM555 with a LO TRS TREM I, which is severly beaten up, so I need to get myself a new trem. I found a Lo Pro Edge that I can buy quite cheap, so my question is, will the Lo Pro Edge fit into the JEM555 body? If not, could you guys recommend another trem?

No it won't, you'll have to get a traditional FR style trem like an OFR or schaller.

Oh man, that blows

Not to sound stupid or anything, but what is a OFR trem? Would it make more sense to install a similar Lo TRS Trem again?

Original Floyd Rose. Awesome trem. Get the Gotoh version. NEVER install a TRS! Stamp on them! Throw them in the bin! RAH! RAH! RAH!

Official Floyd rose, that is what the trs is based on whereas the edge and edge Lo Pro are a totally different design.

What's the difference between the Gotoh (what does that mean by the way?) and the regular original Floyd Rose?

Gotoh is the manufacturer.

Some responsible mod should combine and sticky all the posts about this issue.
I've only been a member of this forum for a few weeks and this is the third or fourth thread I've read about this.

That's a good idea. Someone should make a chart of all the trems that are interchangeable, plus people could post and explain if a certain model needed routing to accommodate a certain trem, etc.

It's not a chart but theres more then enough info here:
http://www.jemsite.com/jem/trems.htm

you just need to browse this site for a while and you'll probably find and answer to any Jem realated question.

True, but people will always ask this question on the forum. Heck, I thought I'd seen the entire site and ended up asking questions only to be directed to a guide that was already up (maple fretboard cleaning). Somehow I'd overlooked it.

Re: Replacing a LO TRS TREM I with a Lo Pro Egde

I know this is a little off subject, but according to that Jemsite guide Floyd Rose Pro's are completely interchangeable with the Lo TRS I and II (meaning they can be switched with the Edge III as well).

But why can't I find a dealer for Floyd Rose Pro's ANYWHERE (other than auction sites)? You'd think they'd be more popular than the Original Floyd Rose because of the low profile...

Anyone know a good site with a good price to get them?
