Replacing pickups in my ibanez RG and... - does anyone know

Ive got an EMG select single coil and humbucker that i put in my ibanez, but some of the split positions sound funny. its possible the pickup just wasnt meant to be split, but does anyone know what positions are for what on the 5 way switch?

thanks!

If you go to the Ibanez website they have wiring diagrams on there for all their guitars, you can then trace the path of the wires to what goes to what.

A little off-topic, but why would you put EMG Select pickups IN your guitar? Most people rip them out! They're third-rate pickups, at best.

well, thats a good question. I found a good deal on them (15 a piece on Ebay for a single and a bucker) and asked around. everyone told me they werent THAT bad and they have nice tone. so i tried em. what the hell for 15 bucks eh? its not a BAD sounding pickup, just not great. but its hard to find a GREAT pickup for an RG. Im also trying a V8 (should be here in a couple days) and ive already tried a duncan distortion, which lacked warmth, and overall it just didnt have a good tone in the rg. if you have any suggestions, im more than willing to hear them. BTW, I just put an axis 1 in the neck and i love it!
