Replacing the trem baseplate - ... how hard is it?
I was just wondering how hard it is to change out just the baseplate for the Lo Pro. *Is it more worthwhile to do that or to order the complete set?

Replacing the trem baseplate
farily simple mod. Remove tremolo, remove block from underside (w/ phillips screwdriver), remove
arm holder
(see TECH section) and remove then remove the saddles. Remove fine tuner screws if the new block doesn't come with them (it might - anyone order one?).
The most time consuming part is re-intonation the guitar afterward... glen

the baseplate is about $60-65 depending on color. That is the only method to change the knife edges i'm aware of. I need to add that to the parts list now that availability is confirmed... glen

About the intonation part... I would need to do it if I ordered a complete set anyway, right?
Shawn.... as far as I know... the knife edges are one piece with the baseplate.

Yes. you'd need to set intonation either way. There is no way around that as the saddle position is unique to each guitar/setup... glen

Replacing the trem baseplate
I have yet to drop a new trem in where I've had to even touch the intonation. Interesting on the plate, I tried to order a 7 Plate last month and was given the old 'basically impossible' answer.

Replacing the trem baseplate
I am sure this is not the right subject area to ask this, but while we are on the topic does any one have a new gold base for a Jem 7VWH?
