Restringd my RG. Now problems with the bridge, its fu**d

Hi. I recently broke a couple of strings on my RG, so i descided to get some new ones and got some .10's to try out.

I went home, put them on, tried tunning them, and noticed the trem was basically upright, as if the strings were pulling it and the springs wernt doing enough. So i tried adjusting the screws that hold the springs in place, but nothing, then i thought, lets start from scratch, and took all strings off and one by one put them on, tuned in, but the same thing happened, everytime i tried tunning them up it would pull the bridge even more and more.

I havnt had this as of yet, and its very annoying as i dont know how to correct it, or even why there seems to be more tension from the strings and not enough to conteract it from the springs.

Please help dudes, dont want the baby to be out of action for long!!

Havnt got one. Do i need to add another due to the .10's being thicker?

Yes

you have too much tention on the string side (think of the trem as a See-Saw, balancingthe Strings vs the Springs)

You add more string tention, you will need more spring tension.

How would it be to use a set of .9-.42's, but just replace the 9 with a 10? If that would work then ill do so untill i get a spring

If you were to use the same gauge set as the setup before which had your Edge perpendicular with the post. If you change just the High E from .009 to .010, you can prob make it work by tightening the claw screws a couple of turns.

More like an 1/8th of a turn

But that would give you a 10E and an 11B, which should feel, strange....

ffs. I decided to put the old strings on, but had to leave the B13 on as thats the string that broke. I tuned it all up, then once again the bridge is comming up. Everytime i tune a string it rises, and then they all go out again, and ive tried playing around with the spring screws, but no luck.

On my GRX I used to use 11's for both because I was always short of 9's. You get used to it after a while.

lol.

Yeah, i suck , i play with things, then dont know how to put them back together.

I was thinking of getting it setup as its still got teh factory one, so i might as well give it to them and get it all done.

Any idea of how much a usual setup costs, £30?

about that.

Check they fully know about the ibanez trems. Otherwise give em richs guide www.ibanezrules.com

I dunno about brighton, but here its usually £25 normal turnaround, £35 fast turnaround (normal = 2-3 weeks, fast - 5-6 days)
