So here’s the story; I bought a used S520 a few weeks ago. Soon after I got it home I noticed that the
string retaining bar was missing. When I had overcome the feeling of shame for not discovering this prior to the purchase I decided to order a new one. When I finally got the spare part I was very disappointed to see that it simply did not fit. The distance between the drill holes in the headstock did not match the distance between the holes in the bar. There’s like 1-2 mm difference and this makes it impossible to install the (damn) thing. The hole between the E and the A string seems to be centred between the strings, but the other one is closer to the high E. So, what should I do? Drill a new hole and try to cover the old one?? Please help me out, I’m a bit confused… Anyone of you guys ever heard of this before?
