RG Project
This is another thing i'm working on. Kinda something to pick away at, seeing as I have nothing but the body right now. LOL
I bought it from Jeremy several weeks ago. It's was in pretty rough shape. Someone had JEM'd it... put a grip and lion's claw in it, did some routing for a
neck humbucker
,
angled jack
. It has some serious chips and other issues.
I've been fiddling away at it the last couple days. I had to spend a few hours smoothing out the mods that had already been done to it... sanding out chips and filling scratches and what not. I got it primed and a coat of silver on it today. I don't think it looks too bad considering the shape it was in when I got it. I think I still have some pics of it on my computer before I started working on it.
Anyways... this is how it looks as of this afternoon. :-) I likely change the color again when i'm at work tomorrow. I just happened to have a some silver there and was curious as to what it would look like.

I know... i'm not impressed with the job done on the grip. Glad I didn't pay to have it put there. LOL I was going to round them more but then the hole would look too big. The spikes will be left. :-) As likely will the silver. I'm kinda diggin it too. hehe
Thanks guys! :-)

Im in awe actually. Pearl guard, pyramids,

all the way. I actually dig the claw shape although the overall job does look rough

I have an old RG100 in semi-decent shape but it's got some dents in and it's my future experiment guitar, probably gonna put a custom pointy neck with no inlays on it, repaint it, put emgs in it, etc. But the problem is it has some dings in the wood, nothing more than like a mm or so deep, but they would need filling for a refinish so I was wondering what did you use to fill the dings? And also did you use any wood sealer or whatever that is? I was under the impression you only needed it for transparent finishes(nope not on Basswood!) but I'm not sure. Just wondering.
Looks spiffy!

Nope. Nothing really wrong with the grip. I find the grip on the jem's a little big for my liking anyway. The grips i've done on the UV and 7420 are narrower then the stock one. I'm definitely going to have no problem living with this guitar. LOL Chrome pickguard... inlays... gawd!! Why couldn't I have been born rich instead of handsome? LMAO!!!
I'm glad you guys are like it.

Well... here we are again. LOL The silver is gone. Long gone. LOL
And now we have this going on.
I may keep it like this. I dunno yet. haha What do you think? I definitely like it more than the silver.
Anyways, this is what I did today. That and put some clear the 7420 and faceplates.
