RG1527 knob problems.

I have an RG1527 and a couple of days ago I tried to turn the volume down and the kob was frozen. I know the guitar was not subject to shock or dropping. I opened up the back plate and found that force only causes the entire part to grind aroud in the hole proving it to be a mechanical problem. On the other hand, the tone knob is wobbly and lose in its hole. I cannot pull off either knob as they are screwed in on the side and the screws seem to have been stripped by the previous owner. I'm not very experienced in repair and don't want to damage anything. Has anyone experienced aything like this before?

ibanez doesn´t use the best pots, so your problem is common around ibanez owners, just get a new pot

yep mine did the first year i had it had to get a new volume pot now my tone one is completly messed up and is getting one installed this week.
