rg2570 set-up

I have had my rg2570 for 5 or 6 weeks. I am having a few problems.. some buzzing, which is an easy fix. but the pick up selector switch is not functioning properly. The bridge and the neck pups sounds fine, but the three middle positions are muddy, when I slightly push the switch to the side, the tone comes back. The sustain is misserable. Does this sound like just a faulty switch or is there something in the wiring? or could it be the height of the pups,,, I know my way around fenders pretty well, but I don't want to start messing around with this new guitar. Any ideas? thanks.

Re: rg2570 set-up

First of all your friend is a tool. Don't listen her anymore. Ibby factory set up is horrible. It does sound like your P/U swtich is fritzy so take it in for warranty service and have it set up properly while it is there. Read the tech section at www.ibanezrules.com and learn to set up your own guitars.

Re: rg2570 set-up

I easily fixed the slight buzzing problem myself and took it in for the switching problem, he dropped in a new selector switch. I really didn't think it needed a full set up, ( I've been around guitars for over 20 years) the first time I picked up this guitar in the store it was lightning fast and played extremely well with little effort. He made a couple of slight adjustments and that was that. I used it last night for 2 full sets,,,, This guitar just refuses to go out of tune.
