RG270 trem replace with OFR?

Planning to get a RG270 for a cheap price and use it as a project guitar, one of the things i am going to mod is the trem, i want to take out it's existing trem (it's not a TRS, TRS II, Edge, Edge Pro etc...) i think it's something called a double locking tremelo (FR Double lock bridge as the Ibanez 2002 catalouge tells me)

My question is, will a original floyd rose directly fit into the space of the existing trem without any mods?

Thanks.

I'll betcha didn't check the first topic section, near the top of the main index page - Archived and Common Questions. At the moment it's the third thread down in that section:

your RG270 has got a Single Locking trem.
it's the same as a TRS in quality, maybe even worst, but you have to insert the strings from the back of the string lock screws. the string lock screws are kind of pipes where the strings pass thru, then they get out and lay onto the saddles.
not a bad idea for a trem, too bad for its building quality.

sorry,
it was just to tell you what kind of trem your RG has.

anyway,
i think an OFR will fit your RG pretty well with no routings needed, cause the single-locking trem is bigger than the OFR (i.e. room enough for the baseplate) yet it's got the same distance between the posts.

just go for it.
