RG321mh Color Change

Hi everyone,

I've got a RG321mh in the natural finish. I'm not really digging it after a few months and want to take it towards the "Weathered Black" color that's offered in the U.S.

I suppose I just wanna know if it's as straightforward as taking off all the hardware, sanding it down to bare wood, and staining it black?

I've got at least a few weeks where I won't be able to play guitar so I figured I might as well give this a shot.

I believe that you have the right idea. You could test on the back first if you are nervous. Only potential problem is how deep the oil sinks in. I know with spray lawyer and poly they don't go very deep so when you sand far enough to get a uniform color, you can apply stain easily. Perhaps use a chemical stripper to get as much oil out of the pores as possible. I bet stained black mahogany would look great.
