Need some help please. Bought a PAF Joe and a Norton to replace the neck and bridge pickups on my RG4EX1. The install has gone well until I had to deal with the 5way switch. There's no specific
wiring diagram for the RG4EX1 on the Inabez site. Some that are similar but quite right. Of course the DiMarzio's have four conducting wiring which makes a direct comparison a pain.
Here's what I tried and so far failed. I get the neck pickup and middle at the neck position and the bridge pickup and the middle in the bridge position but nothing in between
I have attached a PDF of the poles and what I have attached. Think of the neck switch direction as solder pole 1 and the bridge switch position as number 8
1 = Bridge Red (PAF Joe)
2 = Middle hot (INF3S)
3 = Bridge Red (Norton)
4 = Wire to volume pot solder point
5 = Not used
6 = Bridge white/black together (Norton)
7 = Wire to volume pot back side
8 = Neck white/black together (PAF Joe)
The white and green wires from both the PAF Joe and Norton have been soldered to the volume pot back. As well as the INF3S middle ground has been left as is soldered to the volume pot back.
I have contacted DiMarzio and believe it or not their diagram matches what I already have here. So do I have this all wrong or could I have possibly damaged the 5 way switch with heating it up during the soldering process.
Anyone that can help me out I would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Dennis
