RG550 Pickguard?? Different sizes ?!? WTF?

I've got a couple Ibanez RG550's, no real issues until now.
I picked up a new pickguard for one of my other 550's to give it the same pickup config as a 520 (H/H) -- (It's a direct fit and it came from WD) -- No issues there at all.
Anyways; I picked up this new 550 body (stamped 550 in the neck pocket) -- I want to use this H/H pickguard I've got on that body, but it doesn't line up with the holes or the other cuts...
Both the 550's are the older non-AANJ style bodies and I'm really confused about why the H/H pickguard fits one body with no modifications but not the other when they are identical bodies.
Did they make two different patterns of the 550's that would give me two different kind of pickguards?!?

I asked this question in the "Jem & Universe" section and EKG said there are two different patterns, one for square heeled bodies and one for AANJ bodies.

That is true.

But this is an issue of two bodies of the same standard neck joint.

Do the 2 pickguards match up when put up to one another?
What do you mean by the "cutouts"? The lower horn?

Hmm.

Well, it looks like a regular RG550 pickguard is what I'm needing here, but the WD pickguard does appear to be a little off on the pattern now that I hold them up to eachother.

Do those little off differences pertain to your initial post?

But I was thinking maybe he has one cut for AANJ and one cut for regular square.
