RT650 neck binding...

this morning I was changing the strings on my RT650 and I usually clean the guitar and fingerboard when I put new strings.
then I thought remove the 'orange vintage' varnish of the neck binding and I got it!:

Before:

Now:

I used a cutter, sandpaper and masking tape for remove the varnish on binding.

I think that the guitar looks more nice now with that white binding

Re: RT650 neck binding...

Did that to an RX when i sanded the whole neck to natural... I hated the orange goo they painted it with, and (being korean) it was sloppy, too...

Whats best is that the neck on that one was this beautiful piece of very flamed maple

awesome job! i definitely agree about the straight-white binding looking 100% better. it looks more "together" on the whole.

Re: RT650 neck binding...

Good job on the orange gunk removal, I think it displays a classier look. I've always wanted the RG1200TR, basically a RT with a Lo Pro Edge and DiMarzio's...
