rust on my Floyd LoPro

hi all,

long time no see

I have jsut brought a guitar for setup the thing is the Floyd has been extensively used by the previous owners and the device is a bit rusty where the hand was lying to block the trem.

is there anything I could do to make it look better and last longer??

thanks

Re: rust on my Floyd LoPro

if you mean the screws, take it apart and soak them in WD40 for a day or two. If the actual plating is bubbling or pitted(common on Ibanez bridges and acid sweat) there isn't much that will save it. I had one so bad that I sandblasted the whole thing and clear coated it(Eastwood.com) and it looked great afterwards(but a whole lot of work).
