Sanding down and refinishing a bound headstock?
Hey guys im looking at a beat up RG760 (grey) thant id like to paing Fluro orange
Can you just normally sand down and repaint a bound hearstock like on the 7** series?

Unless you are replacing the binding, you will need to tape it off or scrape it.

i wouldnt know how to replace binding, would it be a bad idea to use a chemical stripper to remove the paint on the headstock?

Stripper will melt binding instantly, so bust out the sand paper.

Wrap some 180 around a flat block to remove the paint quickly, follow up with some 220.
