Scalloping from 21st to 24th

Hi,

I have taken the right file from my tool box, to scallop my neck (21st to 24th) as explain here:

http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/scalloped.htm

Just a question: on my neck, I don't have round inlays, but sharktooths. I mean, when these inlays will be filled (i suppose that they are plastic inlays), they will lost their brilliant and smooth aspect.

By polishing them, will they recover the original aspect ?

I have never remove a neck from a guitar, so, when remounting it, at which torque should I tighten the screws ?

thanks for your precious advices

yesterday I followed this tutorial to scallop my neck, though I scalloped the entire fretboard (with more than one file of course), and the dots on the frets are as shiny as always, but two things you should think of that isn't mentioned in this tutorial, is ,firstly use a very fine sandpaper after the file, it looks MUCH better that way, secondly, use some kind of oil to get the original colour of the fretboard. Almost any gentle oil can be used, I asked around a bit, and it seems that most experinced guitar builders prefer baby oil It's supposed to be very gentle on babies, and it treats your guitar the same way
I'm not sure what you mean about torque when thightening the screws, but as long as you are very careful that the neck is in the right angle when you attach it, just tighten the screws thouroughly and you'll be fine.
I'll probably post a full tutorial for scalloping the entire neck here in a few days.

Good luck!
