sealing

I just routed a hole in the side of my 550 to make room for a batter compartment (i was getting sick of taking off the pickguard to change batteries). Should I apply a wood sealant on the inside of the whole (bare wood)? or is it fine as is?

Re: sealing

did you use a PP9 battery carrier ?
and No, theres no *need* for sealant unless youre painting the area, sealant is to stop the timber from continuously "drawing" in - basically sucking the paint into the fibres of the wood...

but if you have some on the shelf in the workshop...... might as well. !
