I have read this manual (page 32):

Where it explains how to make the ZR float. What I don't understand is, if I remove the stop rod, won't the springs attached to it make the stop rod fly away to Hawaii or something? I don't have the guts to use the trial and error method. Or are the springs not all that stiff? I dunno, this is my first floating trem experience. Any advise anyone? Rich?
