Shims - I need to further lower the action

*I have been trying to set the action low ever since i bought a bsb. I have recently started using 009 s but eventhough I have lowered the bridge as much as possible the action still seems very high.(More than 4mm) *I now think i have to lower the nut. In order to do this shall I completely take off the shim or is there anything else I can do to further lower the action. I can't find thinner shims to install because the dealers are never interested in supplying these kind of equipment.

You can do that and also check to see if there is a neck shim in the heal pocket for the neck that could be removed........

*what is the heal pocket? Also i think completely removing the shim will make the open strings buzz. Is there anything left me to do besides removing the shim?

see the Jemsite --> Guitars --> TechSetup area. You might have to shim the body side of the neck pocket. This was discussed in a recent thread if you look around too. Good luck ...glen

Neck shim. Take a piece of paper and flold it 3 times so it's 4 thick, should be an 1" by 3/8" or 25 x 9 mm. Drop it in the body side of the neck pocket as Glen said.
