Small metal bits fell out of original Edge (pic included)

Gang:

OK. I changed all of the strings and cleaned the string blocks on my '88 777 the other day. I had blocked the trem from under the string lock screws with a small pad of paper to maintain tension on the claw springs.

After changing strings, I notice that it's hard to fine-tune some strings, and discover these three little metal rectangles have come out, presumably from under the saddles, and become wedged under the string lock screws:

These little metal bits are not on the Edge parts diagram. I'm assuming that they're some kind of washer or spacer to go between the saddles and the main trem plate. Yikes.

Questions:

1) What the heck are these things?

2) Should I get these bits back into the Edge toot sweet, or is it safe to wait for the next string change?

They're not listed because they aren't "parts" but rather a part of the saddle. They are pressed into the underside of the saddle to prevent the block from falling through if you loosen the locking bolt too far. They also prevent you from putting the string end in too far. Without them, you can put the string in too far and then the string end hits the baseplate when you're fine tuning. It's no big deal. You could try to press them back in but they will likely pop free again as you poke the string down in there during a future string change. You could use superglue to hold them in if you want.

They're exactly as Frank said but they're actually part of the saddle, they just tend to break off. You can see the bare metal edge where they were attached. Still no big deal as Frank said
