Re: Springs
Not really, and only if your springs are now causing a specific problem with your tremolo system.

Re: Springs
Yeah they do wear out after a long time. But they get really nice right before they get pretty much useless. They really do last a really long time though unless your doing Vai type trem stuff everyday.

Re: Springs
I was given 4 with my Lo Pro, is that because one is a spare or am I supposed to have hooked them all up?

Re: Springs
jonboyuk:
you should only need 3 springs if your using 9-10 gauge strings. if you use 11-12's pop a forth spring in, your spring tension and string tension should be equal for the trem to float correctly

Re: Springs
Or you can use the shorter springs that are about. On these, the spring section itself measures 47mm rather than the standard 52mm.
I noticed Rich on IbanezRules says he does not like the shorter ones. But I play 7 strings with a 010 - 046 + 060 set up and my options are 3 shorter springs or 4 standard. What I hate about using 4 standard springs is that you can no longer use the spring retainer - which makes things really awkward.
