Springs/tremelo question!!
Hi guys,
I put some heavier
gauge strings
on my 7620 and I needed to add another spring to set the bridge level properly, but there are only holes for 3 springs in the bridge. I have taken one of the screws out that fastens the plate that fastens the spring tips into the bridge and placed the 4th spring tip into that screw hole and it seems to be ok. Is it true that the bridge is only designed to accept 3 springs? Also is it ok to place the 4th spring in one of the screw holes?
Cheers

Re: Springs/tremelo question!!
The answer to both of your questions is Yes and Yes. Technically, the block can accept up to 5 springs if you count both screw holes (that sounded dirty, LOL). Nevertheless, you should be fine using the screw holes to accept extra springs.

Thanks for your response! Ill just keep it as is then. I was just concerned that maybe over time the spring would wear down and damage the thread of the screw hole!
