Squeaky posts

Whenever I do a number of quick deep dips with the bar,the knives/posts start to squeek. I know its not the bar or bar holder, because I can do it without the bar in. Would it be safe to put some WD40 on the contact point, or is there some better solution? Thanks.

That's something you should never hear so I'm not positive that's the problem, but, go ahead and try a little 3in1 oil or something compatible. WD40 is a little light.

I'm thinking it could be the springs. Got any solutions for that? I have cotton stuffed down 'em, and while I doubt that's the problem, could it have any effect on the squeaking?
