Re: stainless steel frets

Thought about having USACG put them on my Custom neck but chickened out. Im interested in that they are supposed to last forever but I dont think I would have a perfectly good neck refretted with them just because. I hear they brighten the sound too.

Re: stainless steel frets

If I ever get a replacement neck for my strat I'm gonna get stainless steel frets, as I think my clammy hands ruin normal frets too quickly. Boo-urns.

Re: stainless steel frets

I love them. I have some on my Warmoth neck and they make bends easy (which is good because I use pretty heavy strings). They do brighten the sound though, so you would probably do well to put them on a darker sounding guitar. That would be a perfect balance. Mine are on an ash bodied strat with a maple fretboard and I have no complaints.

Re: stainless steel frets

I have them on my Carvin 727. They are nice and slippy for string bends, and just for that I'd suggest going for them. They just feel good to play. I haven't noticed any change in sound, as I haven't refretted a guitar to A/B, but if there is a difference it is nearly negligible. Go for it

I have two with SS frets, and I am having two more refretted soon.

Love them!

Re: stainless steel frets

I would definitely not say MOST, but there's a growing number that are.
