"Stiff" pot..

The volume control on my 540S has always been a bit stiff feeling, it kills any possibility of using it for volume swells, etc. Does anyone know a way to loosen it up?

It may be pressed too hard against the body, creating friction. Try raising it a little off the body.
(I believe the S knobs will need you to undo a screw first? Then lif it a little and tighten again.)

If it's not body interference it's just still too "new". New pots are very stiff, the only way they loosen up is to use them

I'd already thought of friction against the body - the clearance is still OK. I've only had the guitar maybe 5 months - perhaps the previous owner didn't use the volume control. Guess I'll just have to keep moving it
