Strange fret buzz - Only at 16th fret, G string

My friend's just brought me his RG450 and it has a weird problem: it's buzzing at 16th fret, G string. Only there. I've never seen anything like this before. What may be causing this problem? Thanks!

That's an easy one The 17th is high right in that spot, seen this before. Give it a good tap with a hammer first to make sure it's set, if it still buzzes spot it down with a file or my new fav, popsicle stick with 240 on one side and 400 on the other. That you can do with the strings on, whammy depressed all the way. Just take a little off and check, more off if needed till it stops buzzin! Make sure you're taking it off the right spot on the fret or you may get a buzz on the B at the 17th!

Hey rich, don't try and sugar coat it, Its called an Emery Board, you either pulled out of Your or your wife's purse... I stole a couple for similar reasons...lol plus my nails were a lil rough...

If you could find an emery board with wet or dry paper on it, then it'd work, otherwise, stick with a popsicle stick and the correct paper
