my 16th fret on the G string of my
rg2550z, when the note is hit, instantly turns into a pinch
harmonic.
the note just instantly goes an octave above, as if you were hitting the string over the pickup or doing a pinch harmonic.
i've raised the bridge really high, doesn't solve the problem. i've adjusted the neck a few times as well. i'm not really sure how to measure neck relief, but it's not flat. i'd say it's got a "good" amount of curve in it, but then again i don't know what to check it against.
it's only this fret on this string. i'm guessing it's something to do with the frets. it also happens when you bend up on the 14th fret on the G to the 16th fret.
EDIT:
found out it also happens to a lesser degree bending the 11th fret on the B string up to the 12th fret.
