Strange resonance while playing any B note on my jemvwh!

whenever i play a B note on any octave or position on the fretboard i get this tail of resonance even if i mute the strings, the resonance is coming from the body. and its really annoying, could it be springs of the floyd rose? the thing is that if i play the B note i hear the resonance, if i bend it the resonance disapears, when i release the bend the resonance returns.
so i noticed that when bending is involved the resonance doesnt occur.
also the C note on the octave position (G string) isnt sustaining. it just cancels itself after a second and a half. and if i play a natural harmonic on the the 5th fret G string (the note kinda comes and goes in a tremolo effect! just like "WoWoWoWoW"! what could be the problem?

Sounds very much like the springs vibrating.
Add some foam under the springs, from a sponge, or some cotton wool inside the springs.

All right, weirdly enough, it seems BOTH of my RG's do this. One of them definitely much more than the other and I've always throught this was BIZARRE.

I sitll haven't figured it out, but when I realized the other one did it too it really started become more than just a fluke to me!

Doesn't really bother me, though, you can't hear it plugged in, but it really piques my curiosity...

You can hear it plugged in with enough gain.

It drove me crazy on my 7-string for the longest time, especially with that low B sitting down there. Artist is right, though, it's the trem springs vibrating sympathetically to the string vibration. It's a pretty easy fix- simply mute the strigns with something. I tried stuffing them with cotton wool, but that wasn't a terribly elegant solution, and i think it messed with bar return a certian amount. currently, i have a folded up peice of paper towel tucked behind them, and this seems to work reasonably well. Not much pressure, but just enough cotnact to deaden the worst of their vibrations.

dampening the spring vibrations? Not perceptively. you figurer the problem is due to a small amount of string vibration being carried over into the springs, and thus, even if the springs are entirely deadened, the majority of the string vibration is still staying in the strings and body, as the only portion being carried into the springs is a light echo...

Anyway, speaking for myself, I'd be willing to sacrifice a little bit of sustain for no sympathetic vibrations- more than a fair trade.

anyway, it's not like it's an irreversable mod- unscrew the back trem cavity, tuck a folded paper towel under the springs, screw it back in. minute and a half, tops- try it and judge for yourself.

I actually meant before dampening the springs. cos my sustain cuts after a few second when i play some notes on the octave position of the G string.
