Question

Strap Pin

I sure this has been asked before, but anyway...... I need some help with my guitar's top strap pin. It keeps falling out, what is the best way to fix this?

Re: Strap Pin

Fill the stripped screw hole with wooden toothpicks and yellow glue and let it harden overnight before screwing the pin back on. Another option is to try to find a slightly longer and thicker screw to bite into fresh wood(I know the bad jokes.....LOL). I better repair would be to drill out the hole clean and glue in a piece of hardwood dowel and re-drill.

Sometimes the oldest tricks in the book are still the best.

Re: Strap Pin

Yep, toothpicks are the way to go. Or in my case, wooden kebab skewers! I attatched some schaller straplocks to my RG the other day and they worked a treat. Make sure you leave it to dry for at least 24 hours (ideally two days) before you re-drill.
