Strat neck bolting into an S?

Im planning on doing a Strat build.. with a carvin neck. Looking for a quilted top body..

I came to thinking, would an S body fit? I recall hearing that the neck pocket of the RG's matchs a fender neck, altho obviously with frets it wouldnt work.. but since S's are 22 frets anyways..??

Anyone have experiance, or have a website with neck pocket dimensions of an S?

Edit: i'll probably go with a strat body.. But just checking my options.

The older S bodies(1987-1990) that use a 4 bolt neck plate should be fine with a strat style 22 fret neck (I have installed an early S neck on a strat body and it fit and intonated perfectly). Now an S body with the AANJ will not work with any other neck(at least not without major woodwork).

It's possible to do, I put a carvin neck on a SA that I have. The pocket is a little wide for the carvin neck, but there are no mounting holes in the neck so you can line it up right yourself and match the bolt pattern from the AANJ body.
