I've got this Big Apple Strat which I've had for many years. Great guitar. I just got a JEM from Rich and it's killer. The action is pretty even all over the fretboard which got me thinking about my Strat.
The action on the Strat gets progressivly higher from the first fret up to the 22nd. Not terribly high, mind you, but I'd like it to be a little more even all across the board. The trem sits flat with the body, it floats. Lowering the saddles didn't really make much of a difference. The neck is fairly straight and the guitar is generally setup great. I'm no tech expert but the only thing that makes sense to me is that maybe the
neck angle needs adjustment to even out the action. Does this make sense?
Seems like a shim on the body side might tilt the neck back enough to even out the action but I've never done it. I'll try take some detail pics tomorrow and post 'em.
Any advice is appreciated. I could live with the guitar as is but it seems like it could be better.
