String guage for Eb?

I usually use Dean Markley Blue Steel 9-42 for standard tuning. I want it to feel similar for Eb tuning.

Should I get 9.5 or 10's?

I'm thinking 9.5's with a 12 on the B string (instead of the 11.5).

I tuned to Eb for years, with Super Slinky 9-42. Never had any issues, but you will need to set up the trem for the lower tension.

I have 10's on my Eb tuned guitar, but I have them for the tone, not because they are particularly needed.

Re: String guage for Eb?

Yeah, I know the tone will be better w/10's.

I want the same string tension/feeling that I get with 9's on a standard tuned guitar so I can switch back and forth w/o having to "adjust".

I noticed that when going from E guitar to Eb w/9s, I will overbend at first or pull the high E off the neck with wide interval pull-offs. The latter is has an oafish, amateur effect. I hate it!
