String Popping Out

I know, I shouldn't be posting twice in the same day. I'm probably getting annoying, and I'll undoubtedly be going on a few hit lists, but I have a new problem with the Edge III.

Everything was going well, all spring troubles resolved, getting tuned up, when my B string popped straight out of the saddle. Thinking maybe it was loose, I put it back in and tightened firmly. Once I got up to my normal tuning, it came out again--and again the third time I tried. I took the string off and put on a new one of close to the same gauge, but that did no better. Must be the saddle. I've been searching, of course, but this problem seems rare, and I can't find anything targeted at what's happening. I'm dying here...it's been six hours of trying to get my guitar to take new strings, and it's chipping at my morale.

Did you break the B string and have a piece of string still in there?

Is it dead center on the lock block?

Pull the lock block out and look for a groove in it's face. Grind flush if necessary.

There was indeed a bit of the previous string's winding in there. And now I feel all alarmist for not thinking of that. I've been tuning around and playing with the trem angle for a while, did a few prelim tremolo dips, and it seems to be holding. Thanks, Rich, I owe you.
