The elusive ibanez logo - I'm hotrodding my RG 550

Hi everyone,

I have decide to turn my ugly, poorly looked after RG550BK into a thing of beauty! *I've sanded down the body and while keeping the black pickguard I've stained the rest a warm caramel colour. *It looks beautiful (I can't afford a Jem - I'm only a 17 year old youngin - but I'm sort of going for the Bad Horsie Jem thing that I saw on the VAi site) but now everytime I look at it the black headstock with the silver logo just looks wrong.

I want to sand it down and stain it the same as the body - my only problem is how to put on a new ibanez logo. *There was a thread on another post that wouldn't work for me, so can someone pleease help me out. *Even better, if anyone has a black ibanez decal for sale, I'll buy it. *Alternatively, is there a way to take of the silver logo I currently have, sand away the black finish and then re-apply the logo?? *I'm doubting it but as a novice guitar modifier it is worth asking!!

Thanks a lot

Stephen

I too am interested in this, and I suspect it's been asked before so we'll likely get shouted at for asking... :innocent:

but yeah, I will soon be chrome-plating my RG550 and sanding down my JEM777DY, both of which have bright yellow headstocks. it would be great to be able to refinish them then reapply the logos.

cheers,

Actually I get asked that question a lot and can relate to the Moderators and Glen when it comes to look before asking, please click here>Universal Jems F.A.Q. Might not be the answer your looking for but it is the only one I have.
