thinking of refinishing my s540 oil finish but need advice..
Hey all, I had my neck crack on me and I have a replacement on the way. I was thinking that while I have the neck off and the bridge so I can replace the pins and anchors, maybe I should do a overhaul on my baby. The pickup selector is acting up, input jack is loose, needs shield paint in the cavities and has some dirt build up where my arm and hand sit on the guitar.Has some minor scratches and one ding near where your picking arm lays.
So I'd like to make it all nice and shiny again. I like the feel of no clear coat on it.
I read some threads about people taking off the paint and making it look like how mine normally is, but what are the steps that I need to do,(roughly said) just sanding and applying tung oil or a different finish/oil?
Here is a pic or two. It is a 1992 S540sol. Thanks in advance for the help.
