Tips for removing a stuck truss rod nut? (i.e. won't turn)

Long story put short, I just got a new guitar and the truss nut is stuck. It looks like maybe some paint dried around it, so I scraped it away. But it still will not turn.

I put the allen wrench in place and tapped it with a hammer, loosened the strings to cause the neck to bow a bit and those ideas didn't work. Would heating a soldering iron and putting it on the metal nut help? I just want the damn thing to work.

If it's a new guitar return it.

If you can't, put the neck into backbow to take all the pressure off the truss rod. If it still won't turn, consult a professional.

Thanks Rich, but I got it now.

I dunno what the design of this nut is called, but the top part of the "nut" is unconnected to the inner allen screw. When I turned it, there was the illusion that it was "stripped", because it would turn but the outer portion would be stagnant. Well this kicks all kinds of ass now, I'd rather look like an idiot once than have to send it back!
