Tone zone 7 vs Invader 7 vs EMG-707 - which is the best pick

As you have probably read somewhere else on this board i am looking for a new bridge pickup for my rg2027xvv. I want a thick well defined tone.

I have the invader in my ESP-m-207 and it is a good pup for me but a little harsh - would the mahogony body in the 2027 tame the harshness of it ?

Other pickups i am considering (based on hearsay) are the tone zone 7 and the emg-707

The thing i have agaisnt the 707 is the fact that i will have to have the body routed and i dont know if i will be able to fit the electrics in the guitar. As i am fitting a sustaniac there will allready be two 9volt batteries (one for the sustaniac, one for the peizo bridge)

I haven't heard much about the tone zone 7 but i know Paul Gilbert uses the 6 string version and i dont like his sound....

So PLEASE help me if you could

The only advice I can offer you is about the TZ.

I mailed Dimarzio and got a reply about the TZ (6-string version) that's going in my Mahog body (pure, no top).

They basically said it would give me everything I need, which was AH's, clear NH's, chunk and creamy lead.

They said I may get some slight mud from big mesa's i.e. dual/trip rec's, but as I ain't got one and don't intend to ever get one that's ok.
They will react well with Nomad's apparently.

They're very versatile, and especially so with Soldano's, and since that is the AMP I have dreamed about almost every night for the past 10 years (yes I'm sad ), it's taking pride of place in my bridge.

If you have some time I should have my guitar completed circa early August (the only thing holding me back that long is the cash for the pups) and will happily post some sound samples through a POD Soldano, Marshall, Boogie + any others mod.

dimarzio has a liberal return policy in the USA. If it applies in the UK, take advantage of it. I like the 6-string ToneZone with mahogany bodies... sounds great. I also like the Blaze-II alot although i have not heard it in the 2027. EMG I would pass on, same for the sustainer. That is better for a cheaper RG7620 or something IMHO... glen
