This depends totally on the neck angle and string height above the body. ON the early Kramers, the floyd Rose bridge fit in what looked to be standard Strat routing. Later on, the recessed versions were done for 2 reasons. 1-so you could have lots of pull UP(which you say you don't want) and 2-so the strings could be closer to the body(less neck angle). If you have a bolt-on neck, you can adjust the angle with shims, or by shaving the bottom of the pocket to a slight angle. If you sit an Edge or FR bridge in the routing you have, you can measure the height of the saddle(and add 1/16 to 1/8") and see if it will work(measure the height you have with the old bridge first). BTW, the 1/8" is to allow the front edge to pivot and not hit the body.
