Trem Blocking On UV777BK

I was just wondering if it was possible when you block the trem for detuning, if you can unblock it after it's tuned to make the trem fully functionable again? I know Dime from Pantera uses at least a drop-D tuning for most things and it sounds like his is fully functionable. Just wondering.

Dimebag typically uses a different guitar for different tunings. You can tune a floyd to d on the fly but you have to compensate for the shift in tension. You could use a tremsetter but you will lose almost all flutter by using this device, but you will still have the pitch shifting range with the whammy bar. I dont know anyone whos been able to block and unblock the trem like your talking. Its just one of the things you have to deal with when using a floyd.
