trem post is stuck

i can adjust the trem post on the low E side pretty freely, but the one on the high E side doesn't budge at all.

i've also tried to unlock the stud by using the smaller allen key, but it just keeps turning and turning (seems to be gripping though) without making a difference.

also, on the low E side, when i insert the smaller allen key to unlock the stud, it just seems to turn freely without any grip. it's the same key i used for trying to unlock stud at the low E side.

any solutions?

Re: trem post is stuck

sounds like your locking screw is stripped and you need to get the stud loose before the smaller screw will turn. if you dare, you can put an allen wrench in the stud that isn't moving and give the allen wrench a few taps with a hammer or something. enough to jar it loose. tap it so you are going counter-clockwise and not tightening more. then once that budges, you can loosen the small one and adjust it if it's stripped out.
if that doesn't work, spray a littlw WD40 on that stuck stud and try again.
hope this helps.

ok. will keep that in mind.

how does the locking stud work? i looked at the diagram in the instruction manual but i can't really figure it out. does the smaller screw tighten itself to the wood?

Re: trem post is stuck

i've tried knocking it, and it is able to turn counter-clockwise. however, i can't seem to turn it clockwise after a certain point.

on the low E side, the bridge is able to go lower than the high E's 'max' point. any idea how to resolve this?

Have you read the tech sections at Ibanez Rules on action settings and adjustment?

Click on the link. The info you're after is in the 3rd to last paragraph, beginning with the words, "Floating Bridge - Edge, Lo Pro, Pro Edge..."
