Trem Spring "Reverb" - Raaannng

I don't know how so many guitarists can STAND it. I'm talking about the RING of trem springs. If you play a chord then stop, the trem springs still resonate and they do it out of tune. It's not like reverb, it so unfocused. I just got an Ibanez 7 string to goof around on and it was completely unlistenable without putting a little 1/2 inch square of foam between the springs. Why doesn't everyone do this, or why don't they do something like this at the factory. I started doing it in the 70's when I went through my Strat faze, and can still hear it on big time pro's gear.
It's bad enough listening to guys who don't play, tune or intonate well, but geee this is SO easy to fix and does not effect playability at all. DO it now before I hunt the rest of you down!

Trem Spring "Reverb"

The ringing springs gives a distinctive tonal quality to the guitars that have them, especially the Strat. *That is why hardtail Strats are not very popular. *If you wank on your tremelo a lot, then I could maybe see where it gets annoying. *If it bothers you that much, I would just put some masking tape instead of messing with foam.
