Tremolo Cavity Foam

Hi Folks,

The trem cavity foam in a couple of my Uni's is looking a bit ratty. Is anybody aware of a manufacturer that supplies this?? I cannot find a part number for it at the Ibanez site.

Thanks in Advance,

Mike

From my experience, EMG Pickups packing foam works wonders

I don't think theres a right or wrong foam (Or other material for that matter), its just a matter of what you have access to and can make work

Im not sure but from the sounds of the original post it seems like he is refering to the pading on the top trem cavity if you know what i mean.

Re: Tremolo Cavity Foam

Ibanez doesn't even have any. You can find comparable material at craft stores. I picked up a couple sheets at my local hobby shop a few years ago, you can't tell the difference once it's in the cavity although it is thinner and denser than the original.

Thanks for the response, Rich. Looks like I'm off to the craft store this weekend.

Ah i get it now .

You could use any sort of foam for that i'd imagine, its just there to protect the trem and the finish isnt it?

Re: Tremolo Cavity Foam

you could also use black felt from a fabric store. USe 3M spray adhesive and trim it with an Xacto knife.
