Tremolo saddle blocks help?!

A couple of those small tremolo saddle cubes that hold the strings in place are really stiff and hard to move. Normally they release the string without a problem, however, i think after years of tightening and loosening the cubes have become stiff and hard to to move.

Is there anyway to remove them? They are super stiff, i can barely move them as it is. I tried to remove them with a screw driver, unfortunately with no luck.. Any suggestions? I would hate to buy a whole new saddle just for a silly little string block clamp...

They've mushroomed. Pull the saddle off. Take the lock screw out of the back, and start working from the slot in the bottom and the hole in the back until you can work it up far enough to get pliers on it.

Sometimes you can put them in a big smooth face vise and compress them back to size, grind, or just replace.
