Tremolo Swap

Ok, this one's simple, for what I've been reading so far I can DIRECTLY SWAP my S470 crappy loTRSII for a Gotoh tremolo, what I need to know is if any Gotoh model would do fine. I mean, I really know nothing bout Gotoh trems so I need to know which model would be the most suitable to make a direct swap with no mods on the guitar's body. Any other input or advise on this would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!

Re: Tremolo Swap

You may need to sand the rear end of the cavity a bit for the saddle lock screws to fit properly. It's easy enough to do by hand though.

You definitely want to replace the trem studs and anchors with the Gotoh ones so you can benefit from the Gotoh locking studs. you'll need to pull the studs and anchors out (article on projectguitar.com about this) and probably drill the holes slightly bigger to fit the Gotoh ones.

You can leave the stock studs and anchors in if you want but they wont be any where near as good as the Gotoh ones.

Re: Tremolo Swap

mmm...interesting...so after all I will need to do slight mods to the body...crap hehehehe I just love this guitar so much that I don't want anything weird happening to her, it's just that trs piece of s*** ruining everything...ok, I'll talk with my luthier and see what does he have to say about this, I'll let you know if I do the swap, and if I do so I'll tell you all how it went and I'll post pictures as well

Re: Tremolo Swap

The Gotoh trems are very good quality.
The brass block is really nice, gives it a nice weight and great sustain.
